Man dies after armed assault in Longueuil
A 56-year-old man is dead after an armed assault Wednesday night in Longueuil on Montreal's South Shore.
A 56-year-old man has died following an armed assault in Longueuil, located on Montreal's South Shore, on Wednesday night.
The Longueuil police (SPAL) received a 911 call at 8 p.m. regarding a fight in a building on Saint-Gérald Street in the LeMoyne sector.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, who was later transported to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
On Thursday morning, police arrested a 68-year-old suspect, who is expected to be questioned by investigators.
"The circumstances surrounding the event remain unknown," stated Jacqueline Pierre, a spokesperson for Longueuil police.
A security perimeter has been established to allow investigators to canvass the scene.
