Première Vision Expands to Montréal for Spring 2025
The alignment has been in development for eight years, with key players including Mathieu St-Arnaud Lavoie, executive manager of the Montréal Fashion Cluster, and Florence Rousson, fashion divisional CEO at GL Events, owner of Première Vision.
When thinking of Canadian fashion, the stereotypical "Canadian tuxedo" — denim on denim — might come to mind. However, Montréal’s fashion scene is far more dynamic and sophisticated, and soon the city will join the ranks of Paris, Milan, and New York as a host of the prestigious Première Vision show.
Scheduled to debut on April 22–23 in Québec’s lively metropolis, this trade show aims to bring together key figures from the worlds of fashion, design, and other creative industries. Supported by the Montréal Fashion Cluster, Tourisme Montréal, and Québec’s Ministry of Tourism, the event seeks to drive growth in Québec’s fashion industry while boosting the region’s economy and business tourism.
“Montréal’s fashion is unique, and its creativity is flourishing,” said Thierry Langlais, vice president of operations at Première Vision New York. “The city’s community-based fashion scene, where local brands and products thrive, is remarkable. Montréal is truly a mosaic of fashion, blending history and innovation. Its rich roots in the garment industry have laid the foundation for the vibrant creativity we see today.”
The effort to bring Première Vision to Montréal has been nearly eight years in the making. Key contributors include Mathieu St-Arnaud Lavoie, executive manager of the Montréal Fashion Cluster, and Florence Rousson, CEO of the fashion division at GL Events, Première Vision’s parent organization.
“The arrival of Première Vision in Montréal is a transformative moment for the industry,” said Lavoie. “Québec and Montréal’s histories are deeply tied to the growth of major industries like fashion, which are integral to our cultural identity. This event highlights Québec’s creative strength and expertise.”
The show is expected to draw 120 exhibitors and 1,200 visitors from across North America and beyond. Designers, businesses, and students will have the chance to connect, explore innovative products, and participate in workshops and conferences, marking a significant milestone for Montréal’s evolving fashion ecosystem.
